FAQ

How tight should a wetsuit be?

A wetsuit should be relatively tight on the body, but should definitely not rub or constrict. There must be enough freedom of movement, especially at the joints and neck.

This means that you must be able to move with the wetsuit in all directions without the neoprene stretching very much. The arm and leg cuffs must not be too loose, otherwise too much water will penetrate.

A wetsuit fits perfectly when you feel comfortable in it and the arm and leg cuffs fit comfortably. Likewise, a suitable wetsuit must not constrict in the crotch and under the arms. Learn more about wetsuits.

How thick should a wetsuit be?

Neoprene thickness should be selected according to your needs. The thicker the material, the more thermal insulation the model offers you.

However, slightly thicker wetsuits are usually also a little heavier. Often, neoprene thicknesses are 2 to 3 mm. Learn more about wetsuits.

At what temperatures do you need a wetsuit?

In cooler outdoor and water temperatures, a wetsuit is definitely recommended. Nevertheless, you can wear a neoprene shortsuit even in summer. In particularly low ones, we recommend wearing a dry suit.

Are long-sleeved or short-sleeved wetsuits better?

There is no such thing as better or worse. This is entirely up to you whether you would rather wear a short-sleeved or long-sleeved wetsuit. The season also plays a role.

By all means, a short-sleeved neoprene shortsuit can be more practical for paddle board sports. Finally, a long wetsuit must also fit particularly well at the knee joints and elbows. Learn more about wetsuits.

Why should you wear a wetsuit?

Primarily for thermal insulation. However, wetsuits also keep UV rays away from your body, protecting you from sunburn on the water. In addition, you can keep branches, jellyfish and algae away from your body.

Conclusion

Surely you will quickly notice the benefits of a wetsuit – it protects you on the board and in the water. If the wetsuit fits well, you will have a lot of fun with it. After all, a good fit is the basic requirement for a perfect wetsuit for paddle board sports.
