We do not recommend buying a used Lidl Paddle Board because it is difficult to judge the quality of a used SUP, you have got no warranties, there might be missing or broken gear, and you will not buy the current-year model.
We are fans of this as we don’t like to recommend beginners buying £1000, and up paddle boards just to get your feet wet. However, there are some limits to this approach.
In general, we are no fans of the Lidl paddle boards. But let’s get to this later. First, let’s talk about second-hand Lidl Paddleboards.
Sure, there are many people offering used Lidl Boards on eBay and similar marketplaces. But the opportunity alone doesn’t make it a good choice.
Hint: There are way better Lidl paddleboard alternatives out there.

3 Reasons Why Not to Buy a (Second-Hand) Lidl Paddleboard
There are four reasons against buying a used Lidl paddle board.
#1 Judging the Quality of a Second-Hand Paddleboard Is Hard
It’s difficult to judge the state and quality of a used paddle board.
You have no knowledge about how intensive or careless the previous owners used their Lidl SUP Board.
You are taking on a risk here.
Also, in the past, there have been issues with the durability of Lidl paddleboards.
#2 Gear Might Be Missing or Is Broken
There might be missing or broken gear when buying a used paddle board from private sellers.
The previous owner could have lost some parts and/or accessories or damaged them beyond repair. For example, a damaged fin or missing leash.
While the gear on a new board is likely to be in great condition, it’s not necessarily so with second-hand paddle boards. Some people just can’t judge their own limits…
#3 Buying an Out-Of-Date Model
You are buying not the current-year model.
When buying a used paddle board, you are not getting the current-year model. In case this is a big concern for you, don’t buy a second-hand one.
You wouldn’t want to miss out on the latest developments and updates of a particular brand or model, as paddle boards are still getting better every year.
Should You Get a (New) Lidl Paddleboard in the First Place?
In general, we don’t recommend buying the Lidl paddle board.
This is because there are other models available which may cost a bit more, but provide way more value when it comes to the quantity and especially the quality of included gear, the overall built quality and stiffness and performance on the water.
You can find such boards here.
With their paddle board, Lidl targets paddleboarding beginners who want to get their feet wet. This is great, and we appreciate Lidl bringing more people to this fantastic sport.
However, we value paddle boards with great quality (and great prices!), which paddlers won’t ditch when they want to get serious with doing paddle tours.
Lidl’s paddle board got weaknesses when it comes to the gear and with its super wide shape riding it feels like driving a car with handbrakes on. We’ve covered more about this in our Lidl review.
As mentioned above, there are better Lidl paddleboard alternatives. We’ve featured the very best ones here.

If you want to paddleboarding regularly, we’d suggest spending some money on buying the right SUP Board for your personal needs.
