The Aqua Marina Fusion is a good choice for beginners. In fact, it’s one of the most popular SUP Boards amongst beginners. The paddle board does not cost much, is of solid quality, and comes with lots of accessories and has a modern design.

If you are looking for a good choice to get into SUPing, the Aqua Marina Fusion is one of the best options. It has a lot of features that make it very beginner-friendly, though it will last much longer than other boards in its price range.

However, we do not recommend buying a second-hand Aqua Marina Fusion.

The design of the Aqua Marina Fusion (check out our review here) was reworked for the latest version. The goal was to further align all the optics of all models of Aqua Marina’s “All-Around” Series. The bright orange and red tones are great at contrasting the blue or green water.

Typically, the Aqua Marina Fusion comes with lots of gear and accessory. That’s great for beginners to outfit themselves quickly for their first trips.

The Aqua Marina Fusion is a complete package in terms of paddling gear, making it great value-for-money. Precisely because the Aqua Marina Fusion comes with so many accessories, it costs little. So you get more SUP for less money when you choose this one!

From shop to shop, there are some variations on the included gear. Most include the board, a paddle, a leash, a backpack, an air pump and a repair and tool kit.

Some retailers even pack a dry bag (waterproof bag to transport gear like your phone, wallet, car key, drinks, snacks etc.), a kayak seat which you can attach to the D-Rings on the paddle board to use it as a kayak or other types of off brand gear.

Overall, the built quality of the Aqua Marina Fusion is decent and with the single-fin and more narrow paddle board shape it’s also great for mid-range touring. We recommend the board for beginners, weighing up to 110 kilograms.

The manufacturer claims that the board can carry way more than that, but heavy paddlers should definitely consider other choices, as the Aqua Marina Fusion isn’t too stable with its light-weight built and very heavy loads.

Sure, there are some alternatives for beginners available in Aqua Marina’s range of boards, as well as from other brands. We did the work and compared the Aqua Marina Fusion to Aqua Marina’s Beast. Also, we’ve created a detailed comparison of the Aqua Marina Fusion and the Bluefin Cruise, which is another favourite amongst beginners.

Hi, my name is Max. In 2016, on my first SUP trip, I was still a bit shaky on the SUP board. But quickly the ambition grabbed me and my passion for SUP was ignited. That’s why I founded stand-up-paddling.org the same year. Our mission is to help beginners discover this sport and bring more transparency into the market with our in-depth product reviews.
