If you have a hard time deciding between all-round and touring boards, then I have very good news for you!
There are boards that skillfully combine the advantages of both classes. The Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ is a touring board that is also very suitable for beginners due to its enormously wide construction.
A high basic stability and a solid load capacity are the main features of this model. Due to its design, however, it still runs quite smoothly and is fun even on longer routes. The board is available in several colors and comes with a small, but unfortunately not complete accessory set.
We at stand-up-paddling.org have been intensively dealing with the topic of paddle boards since 2016 and use all our experience so that we can tell you as many details about the boards as possible!
The different variants of the Decathlon Itiwit X100:
- Itiwit X100 9′ up to 60 kg
- Itiwit X100 10′ for 60-80 kg
- Itiwit X100 11′ from 80 kilograms or for for two paddlers

Short on Time? Here’s the Most Important:
The Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ is the largest board in the X100 series (along with the Decathlon Itiwit X100 9′ and the Decathlon Itiwit X100 10′), and from the outline it looks like a very classic touring board with a tapered nose and straight-cut tail.
However, if you take a closer look at the dimensions of 335 x 86.5 x 15 cm (11′ x 34″ x 6″), you will notice that the board is somewhat shorter as well as enormously wide in construction and thus even significantly exceeds the standard width of all-round boards. Due to the curved rails (side surfaces), it reaches a lush 86.5 cm at the widest point of the footprint.
This makes the board one of the most tip-resistant models in the touring board class. Due to the accentuated board tip, it still cuts through the water in a sporty manner and has a reduced resistance to overcome. This combination of design makes the board one of the few touring models that is suitable for beginners without exception.
The large dimensions result in a high volume of 335 liters, accordingly the board is perfect for larger, heavier paddlers. The proven single fin is used for the fin setup. This significantly improves the gliding characteristics in terms of straight line and directional stability, but the maneuverability is somewhat reduced by this setup.
The Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ comes with the following accessories:
Instructions, backpack, removable single fin (plug-in system), leash (safety line), repair patches and valve key.
The fact that no paddle is included can certainly be forgiven. However, I think that even with a cheap set, at least a pump should be included.

Construction
The silhouette of the Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ clearly reveals that it belongs to the touring boards. The accentuated board tip and the straight tail are characteristic features of this class. However, at 335 cm, it is significantly shorter and, at 86.5 cm, much wider in construction than most of the comparison models.
The fin setup with removable single fin in the plug-in system is the most common variant for tourers. However, the fin shape is quite unusual. Overall, the single center fin is popular in this class because it improves straight-line tracking and directional stability, but you’ll have to plan on sacrificing maneuverability with this setup.
It is also important to note that the fin box is a Decathlon proprietary system. If you need a replacement, only Decathlon can supply it. However, you can get the right fin for a reasonable price at their shop.
Due to the large dimensions, the volume of the individual air chamber is quite lush at 335 liters. Thus, the board has a strong buoyancy and is very suitable for large and heavy paddlers. The single-layer material structure of the outer shell is reinforced by a so-called “stringer” and provides good stiffness.
Load Capacity
The maximum user weight of the Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ is specified by the manufacturer as 150 kg (330 lbs).
As mentioned, the volume of the board is high, but despite the reinforcement, it is a so-called “single-layer board” with a single-layer outer shell. So in order for the stiffness and thus the optimal riding characteristics to be fully preserved, I see the realistic limit of the load capacity rather at 120 kg (265 lbs).
Decathlon states that the board has been tested to a maximum load of 320 kg (705 lbs). That may well be, but this value certainly refers to the buoyancy of the construction and therefore has rather theoretical value.
Nevertheless, the Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ is quite capable of carrying 2 light adults on short trips… a short tour with a child or your dog on board is possible at any time.
Areas of Application and Driving Characteristics
Due to the enormous width, the performance profile of the Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ rather corresponds to a large all-round board with slightly above-average gliding characteristics.
Especially the excellent tipping stability is very different from many other touring models, but is also reflected in lower speeds. All the better that the single fin improves the running behavior on long and straight stretches.
The combination of the different features makes the board a great alternative to the popular all-round board for beginners. Both on relaxed, small swim trips and on longer tours with luggage, the board is a solid companion. The above-average width provides the necessary basic stability in any situation.
The surface of the Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ is also large enough for use as a yoga and fitness platform. Every extra inch is also welcome when fishing from the SUP board. For all uses, the focus is on high tip stability.
Wide-cut touring boards are certainly among the most flexible and versatile SUP boards, because even beginners can easily survive the wobbly early days on these models. Almost any body of water is open to you and waiting to be explored. Only for strong currents and heavy swell, the attack surface of the board is too large to keep control at all times.
Material and Weight
The construction of the Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ is called “single-layer dropstitch”. The core of the board is made of a multitude of polyester threads woven together (“dropstitch”). The single-layer outer shell is reinforced by a highly visible additional PVC strip (“stringer”) lengthwise.
While this element increases stiffness, it still doesn’t quite reach the level of a board with double-layer or multi-layer construction. Considering the price range, however, this material construction is entirely appropriate.
The weight of the Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ is in the average range at 10.5 kg. Adult paddlers will certainly manage the handling without much difficulty.
Workmanship
Decathlon traditionally makes very precise statements about the material used. In principle, it is always a good sign when a manufacturer clearly states the material quality. In terms of build, Decathlon offers the Itiwit X100 11′ at a very realistic price.
In this price segment, however, you basically always have to check the board individually and carefully for good workmanship and possible defects. However, in view of the reviews, it can be stated that the board is usually absolutely satisfactorily processed.
Design
The Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ is available in several colors, although not all are always available: Blue, Yellow, Turquoise and Red. Overall, I find the design of the boards quite harmonious and pleasantly simple. The respective base color is complemented in each case by a matching, darker shade on the rails (sides).
The standing surface is white in the rear area and is optically separated again with a colored stripe from the rest of the deckpad. On the bottom and in the area of the nose, the darker PVC strip (“stringer”) is visually nicely integrated into the design. In my opinion, the boards have a very successful, modern and sporty look.
Other Features
The Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ comes with the following additional features:
- Deckpad: On the top of the board there is an anti-slip deckpad made of EVA with diamond structure. On the side of the strap, the standing surface is additionally decorated by incisions.
- Two free loops: At the rear, there is a small loop for hooking the included leash (safety line). Another loop is located on the underside of the nose. Here you can tie the board safely to the shore or use it for towing.
- Central strap: There is a central strap in the middle of the board. This is the center of gravity of the board and therefore the most stable position for your feet. The carrying loop is made of a water-repellent strap material.
- Detachable single fin: A single fin (plug-in system) is included in the delivery.
- Luggage net: In the front area is an elastic cover net, which is attached to 4 other small loops. Here you can safely store equipment or provisions (best in a dry bag).
- Valve on the nose: In order to be able to use the footprint all the way to the tail, the valve has been moved to the nose. This position is also ideal for rolling in, as you can start at the tail and the fin box is not bent.
Accessories
The accessories package of the Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ consists of the following components:
- Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ Backpack: the set includes a matching color backpack with a large compartment and all-around zipper. It has a lightly padded shoulder section and can be adjusted via the carrying straps, which are also padded and adjustable.
At 97 x 40 x 20 cm, the backpack is large enough for an optional paddle and air pump to fit alongside the rolled-up board.Overall, a solid entry-level model with the most important board facts printed on it.
- Removable Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ Fin: The single center fin is removable and is attached to the board via the plug-in system. For mounting, the fin is slid into the fin box within seconds (slide-in system) and fixed with a small clip.
Compared to the US box system (with screw and threaded plate), the plug-in system clearly has the advantage of saving time. However, the selection of replacement fins is somewhat smaller or not quite as diverse as the US box system. - Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ Surf Leash: A surf leash (safety line) connects your ankle to the board via a sturdy cuff. If you fall into the water, it keeps your board close to you.
To be on the safe side, please always wear a leash. Unlike a coiled leash, a surf leash is not coiled, so there is a possibility that it will get in your way while paddling and you could get caught with it. - Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ Repair Patches: Included are color-matched PVC patches that you can use to repair small defects on the board. Unfortunately, the matching adhesive is missing, this must be purchased separately.
- Decathlon Itiwit X100 11′ valve wrench: With the wrench you can check the valve for tight fit and also replace in case of a defect. Please use only when all air has been completely deflated from the board!
