A leash is part of the standard equipment. The leash is attached with one end to the board and the other end to the body.
Depending on whether it is attached to the ankle or under the knee, it is called an ankle leash or a knee leash.
There are two different types of SUP leashes. Whether ankle or knee leash depends on your own calf, feet and comfort level.
The vast majority of ankle leashes are crimped. The risk of injury is lowest with a spiral coil leash because they do not expand to full length until a fall, and therefore do not get tangled in underwater plants or rocks while riding.
The best leashes are made of durable materials, last a long time, and are comfortable.
