Do you know that?
When researching paddle boards online, you spend hours clicking through blog posts, manufacturer pages, forum posts, and customer reviews, and in the end you still don’t know which paddle board to buy.
We asked ourselves why there isn’t a site that clearly presents all the important information about paddle boarding and paddle boards, posts reviews of the most important paddle boards close to everyday life and gives independent and honest buying recommendations.
Because there was no such offer yet, we launched stand-up-paddling.org in 2016.
Our editors do the work. We research, review and compare for all it’s worth to present you with the best paddle boards in our round-up reviews. Of course, we also explain clearly and understandably everything you need to know before buying.
Where do your ratings come from?
Our editors thoroughly study the products they write about. We research, read third-party reviews, customer ratings and buyer’s guides to familiarize ourselves with each paddle board or accessory category.
The reviews and test results are based on real-life tests. We don’t rely on algorithms to convert some individual scores into an overall result.
Instead, we make holistic decisions by testing and evaluating the product with all its features in actual use.
Isn’t the best product always the most expensive?
No, our seal for the best product is given to the product with the best price-performance ratio.
In many, but not all cases, there are more expensive products that can do more. However, in our opinion, the more than features are often not worth the extra price.
If you want to invest more in a product, however, we certainly won’t hold you back. In some tests, we also designate a certain product as a “premium choice” that costs more than our test winner, but can also do more.
For those who want to save money, we also offer the “Budget Pick” seal, which marks a particularly inexpensive and at the same time good product.
How do you make money?
We are reader-support. We finance our work by advertisements and affiliate links to Amazon and many other online stores. If you buy a product from Amazon or another store through the links on our site, we may receive a small commission.
The price does not change for you, of course. However, the commissions help us to pay the running costs of the website and especially the salaries. You help us to continue to provide well-researched and independent buying advice.
In the future, we want to invest even more in more elaborate projects, such as our own research in the form of e-books. If you have ideas for exciting topics or would like to work on such a project, please contact us.
Doesn’t affiliate links create a conflict of interest?
No, because we only earn commissions if you are really satisfied with the products. If you return the product because it doesn’t meet your requirements, we don’t get any commission.
It is important to note that the editors themselves never receive a commission for the products they review. We also test and recommend products that are not available online or from online stores with which we do not have an affiliate programme.
Do you also sell your own products?
No, we do not sell products ourselves. We are just a team of enthusiasts who write informative and high quality articles about Stand Up Paddling. Our mission is to help you make the right buying decision.
Is it safe to buy the recommended products through your website?
Yes, we work exclusively with trusted and secure online stores that meet minimum standards and have been operating for a longer time.
Why is X product or X product category missing from your website?
If you miss a product category or product, contact us.
How can I contact you?
You can contact us on social media or just reach us here through our website.
Our team is made up of permanent team members, freelance writers and experts who assist us with research.
Hi, my name is Max. In 2016, on my first SUP trip, I was still a bit shaky on the SUP board. But quickly the ambition grabbed me and my passion for SUP was ignited.
That’s why I founded stand-up-paddling.org the same year. Our mission is to help beginners discover this sport and bring more transparency into the market with our in-depth product reviews.
Hello, my name is Alana. In 2020, I stood on a SUP board for the first time and was so excited that I immediately purchased my own paddle board!
On land, I prefer riding my longboard. But now, I look forward to spending many hours on the water – soaking up the sun, doing sports, cooling off in the water and relaxing. And even in winter, thanks to my dry suit, I don’t have to miss out on paddling.
Water is my element. In 2019, I made my first attempts on a SUP board and since then I’m constantly learning.
For me, stand-up paddling is a great way to combine a workout and feel relaxed at the same time. The perfect balance to everyday life!
I am happy to share my experiences about SUP with you!
Hi, I’m David. I’ve just been actively paddling since 2021, but I’m already super enthusiastic about it. It’s great that you get that sense of achievement starting from your first paddle tour. About Stand Up Paddling, I like most that you can explore new places.
