That is the whole argument, and it is why a leash matters more on flat water than most people assume.<\/p>\n<p>Two decisions cover almost everything: coiled or straight, and how thick the cord is. Coiled stays out of the water and off your feet, straight is what you want in surf, and thickness is a trade between drag and strength.<\/p>\n<p>We compared ten leashes for paddle boarding, from a six
