🛠 Built & Material

The Penguin X-Lancer MSL features a modern MSL Fusion construction. This method fuses the PVC outer shell with the fabric core under high pressure and heat, resulting in an inseparable bond between the outer shell and core.

This process eliminates the need for adhesives and creates a lighter, more robust product. The X-Lancer also has narrower PVC strips (Stringers) glued in the longitudinal direction on the upper and lower sides, with double reinforcement on the side surfaces.

This construction method achieves the desired board stiffness, saves material, and reduces weight. The MSL Fusion construction offers the ideal combination of stiffness, lightweight, and durability, making the Penguin X-Lancer easy to roll in and out of the backpack.

⚖️ Weight Limit

The Penguin X-Lancer MSL has a maximum paddler weight capacity of 120 kg (264 lbs). However, it’s important to consider that the optimum performance of the board may be affected if the weight limit is reached.

Based on our experience, we recommend a weight range of approximately 80-110 kg (176-243 lbs) for the best riding experience.

🏄‍♂️ Intended Use & Riding Characteristics

The Penguin X-Lancer MSL is designed as a hybrid between an all-round and a touring board, providing a perfect combination of stability and gliding capabilities for ambitious beginners and intermediate paddlers. With a length of 381 cm (12’6″) and a width of 81 cm (32″), it is longer than most all-round boards, offering improved tracking and speed while still maintaining good stability.

The X-Lancer is well-suited for flat water conditions, such as lakes and calm rivers, as well as for cruising along the coastlines with moderate waves. Its long and wide dimensions, along with a nose rocker, enable it to glide through the water smoothly and efficiently while minimizing the effect of choppy waters.

However, due to its length and hybrid design, it may not be as agile as a shorter all-round board, making quick turns slightly more challenging. Overall, the Penguin X-Lancer MSL is an ideal choice for those who want a versatile board that can adapt to various conditions, offering a perfect balance between stability and touring capabilities.

🎨 Design

The Penguin X-Lancer MSL boasts a stunning design, showcasing a vivid turquoise color with blue accents at the rear, and a wood-look finish at the nose, including the Penguin logo. The stand area features two blue wave patterns on either side, with the large Penguin “P” marking the rear of the board.

Additional design elements include a white action camera mount at the nose as well as D-rings on the side for attaching the shoulder strap.

The sleek and eye-catching design of the Penguin X-Lancer MSL sets it apart from other paddleboards in the market, making it a stylish choice for paddlers who value both aesthetics and performance.
